Providing a Foundation for Personal Growth

We believe there should be opportunity for each person to explore new and exciting areas of activity.

Having funded the research and initial development of Sutton Support Services from their own resources the team are now finding that in order to maintain and further develop the projects additional funding is required. Sutton Support Services are applying for a grant in order to continue to provide and develop a unique outstanding project for people with disabilities and their carer's within the Birmingham area.

Further development would include the setting up of a number of Community Initiative Companies in order empower more people with disabilities. Already identified, piloted and ready to run the following initiatives now seek financial support.

The mind is like an Umbrella it functions best when open!!

Current Developments

Sutton Support Services support a leisure programme offering a wide range of worthwhile activities whilst also providing respite for parents and carers. We achieve this by positively encouraging and supporting participants to take part in any of the following activities

  • 6 holiday breaks and several respite weekends on offer throughout the year
  • a thriving Music and Drama Company meeting regularly at the local football club (Sutton Town Football Club), with many productions and concerts under their belt
  • a Creative Art Group building confidence and allowing people to develop their creative streak
  • Attend many of the football matches at their local Football Club
  • A weekly lunch club

Over the past few months we have supported the Ebrook Centre who are experiencing staffing problems.

Sutton Support Services offer a visiting service to families in need of support and advice and are currently supporting people in need of emergency accommodation.

This work aids overstretched Social Workers and reduces their workload significantly.

We are providing a place of safety for those people excluded from other day services.

We provide an Information and support to people with disabilities, parents, carers and other agencies.
